Elmer Batters (1919 – 1997) was a pioneer fetish photographer who specialized in artful images of women with an emphasis on stockings, legs, and feet. He was the first photographer to popularize foot fetishism imagery as erotic entertainment in the 1940's. By the 1950's, he had millions of fans across the United States who closely followed his wonderful stocking and leg magazines. He became so popular by the late 1950's that Parliament Publications published entire magazines featuring only his photographic works. By the late 1960's his popularity had increased so much, that he had several magazine titles named after him - a first for any photographer in the history of straight porn. He is considered by many to be the most influential source of leg-centric erotica in American history.
